|Coming from a successful career as a professional jazz pianist, Erica changed paths and turned to yoga in 2004. She is a certified Forrest Yoga instructor and Holistic Health Counselor. She completed Forrest's 200 hour training and her Advanced Teacher Training. Erica teaches intelligent, challenging classes that will appeal to those interested in learning about the body, alignment, and how to create space for the growth of the spirit in a body transformed by the asana practice.|

What brought you to yoga?
I was looking for alternative ways to manage my adult onset migraine headaches.
What do you love about teaching?
I love sharing with other people something that I find fun, empowering and stimulating. I get to spend time with amazing people who are also terrific students.
Who was your first yoga teacher and how did she inspire you?
Rachel Kaplan was my first teacher in Madison. She helped me create a safe place where I could develop a new relationship with my body. I began to understand and appreciate how it feels and works. I cultivated a generous attitude towards my body.
What motivates you to practice today?
It heals my body and spirit. I also use my practice to find inspiration for teaching and guiding my students.
Before becoming a yoga teacher, what did you do?
I attended graduate school with plans to teach at a collegiate level. Also, being a musician, I taught piano lessons, and directed a highschool jazz program.
What do you love about Pure Yoga?
The people I meet and work with inspire me every day.
